Purpose of BaseLine Algo Systems

Educational: This is for sim/demo trading and to allow a trader to tweak a copy of the baseline algos to how they want to trade and to compare back to the running baseline algos stats etc.
It runs fully automated on a server in sim/demo mode, providing baseline statistics and trading data.
Traders should save a copy of algorithm settings, make adjustments, and compare results against these baselines.
Once configured, the system operates 24/7 on a server with NinjaTrader connected no license in required in NT8 sim/demo modes.

Installation and setup take just one minute.
Workspace 5 can be installed immediately but accounts will need to added within NinjaTrader control center.

Assessment:
Weekly and monthly assessments ensure optimal performance—avoid live trading prematurely to mitigate recency bias !
Time to Market
A minimum evaluation period of 3 months to 1 year is advisable for fully automated trading with the settings and variants a trader has created to suit their trading plan and are tested!.

  5. I need to trade all day more is more   ( we are taught at school and work to do more – in trading less is more – FOMO Fear and Greed)

Statistically, the facts are no secret; day trading is for 80% of people the worst way to make money compared to getting a proper job and career…!  You never know if the market will be in a winning phase and what you will win or lose from week to month.!   It takes a whole lot of money and time to reach this pinnacle of trading for a living.   Ok so yes you can be a winner and so you have to be in the correct winning mindset and environment to do it, alongside an income,  something that provides stability and risk capital, or get funded to trade via a prop firm or you are guaranteed to go to lose and burn!  no matter how good the system – due to psychology!

What can you set you apart and put you in the top 20% of traders – the winners?

Get a routine make it a habit, it will make you or break you!
So make sure it is a good habit!

Have a trade plan:

  1. capital and risk per trade
  2. Set the trading goals, and loss limits for the day and week
  3. select the system and instruments
  4. system template & Workspaces
  5. Schedule when to be at the trading desk and set the system in action and when to pause.

Pre-Session

  • Check the prior session and view a higher time frame analysis to get the bigger picture of the story of the market
  • Set a bias for the session long or short
  • Get the system ready lots and risk and limits 1 trade only or multiple
  • Get the trade controllers ready for action with the controls you use at the ready
  • Assess if the open is a high probability setup and entry
  • Decide to go in half clip or full risk to your plan
  • Decide to wait for the first 30 minutes or 5min or 1 minute of the open.
