AFT8: Upcoming Changes and Updates

We’re rolling out some important changes to AFT8 to ensure a win-win situation for all traders who operate with integrity. The AFT8 Update is still pending, so keep a lookout for notices!

Unfortunately, these changes come in response to widespread end-user abuse of the EULA and subscription requirements—three times as many users are exploiting the system compared to those using it legitimately. It’s disheartening to see how prevalent cheating and piracy have become, not only within the vendor ecosystem but also among the traders who choose dishonesty over fairness, the majority without even leaving credit or referrals. This behavior negatively impacts everyone, especially honest traders like you.

Let’s make it a win-win!

  • We understand that some EULA infringements, particularly those involving the use of AFT for evaluation, prop trading, or live accounts without a valid subscription, may stem from confusion or a lack of communication or loopholes a trader was not aware they had breached.
  • Our goal is to create a compliant, ethical environment that benefits everyone—a true win-win. So we are providing notice to those who are not yet compliant to get a suitable subscription from today onwards with no back charges—no fuss, clean slate starting now.
  • Now that AFT has matured with comprehensive features and support, we’re taking action to ensure fairness. We are committed to building a platform for serious, legitimate traders with a winning mindset.
  • While EULA infringements will not be tolerated—and we need to cover our R&D costs and aim to break even one day, ROI which may take years—there’s no need for drama.
  • We’re offering an opportunity to wipe the slate clean. Any users currently utilizing AFT8 for evaluation, prop, or live trading through outdated versions or loopholes can easily upgrade to become compliant with the EULA and pricing rules.

What’s Changing:

Pending release will implement the following AFT modes of operation and licensing for connection/account modes:

  • Backtest/historical/replay – free all modes to allow assessment/testing
  • NT sim mode/NT demo – indicators free, license required for algo/trade management – GFA/Full
  • Prop eval – license required for indicators/algo/trade management – GFA
  • Prop Perf – license required for indicators/algo/trade management – Full License
  • Unknown live/demo – license required for indicators/algo/trade management – Full License
  • Live trading – license required for indicators/algo/trade management – Full License
  1. Limited Access with Freemium
    To prevent misuse of trade copiers and demo accounts to avoid licensing fees or violate the EULA, we will no longer offer unlimited access to automated features on the freemium plan. Freemium users will have access to free indicators, manual trade entries, and NinjaTrader ATM for trade management.
  2. Old Versions & License Evasion
    Traders using outdated versions of AFT to bypass subscription fees for evaluation or live prop trading will face restrictions. AFT8 will automatically uninstall itself, remove all files, and reclaim ATS property from the system. This will be enforced after a two-week grace period.
  3. Going Forwards
    1. Trade Copiers
      Detection and restrictions may be enforced to prevent users from evading subscriptions, particularly those who lead and send signals to other traders who don’t pay. We might instead write an AFT trade copier and allow that—to get around it and to be honest, our trade copier would be far better (for AFT trading)! Can’t wait to do that; I have envisaged how I would use it and need it myself 😉
    2. Identity Proof to Stop Free Trial Abuse
      User account identity proof to stop free trial abuse may be enforced by Twilio or Stripe—this shows how bad it has got. We are investigating how to do this without becoming like a big brother regime, but again, there are some users with 10 email accounts who consistently abuse and use the system for free and don’t even give a review!

Session Open Dynamics trading indices futures hybrid automated traders

As we approach the NYSE open, here are some key points to consider:

  1. Session Open Dynamics:
    • At the opening bell, the market could either see a trending breakout or engage in light volume, frothy or choppy see-saw movements around the session open within the Daily Session Fib Grid.
  2. Key Levels to Monitor:
    • MSFG, WSFG, DSFG previous session Open NTZ, highs and lows. These levels can be significant in determining early market direction and potential support or resistance points during the session.
    • Additionally, be mindful of outside gaps (where the opening price is outside the previous session’s range) and inside gaps (where the opening price is within the previous session’s range). These gaps can offer clues about market sentiment and potential follow-through.
  3. Time Cycle 10 AM Jiggle:
    • Around 10:00 AM, the market often experiences the “10 AM Jiggle,” where it establishes a clearer direction and often a new high or low.
      • This may lead to a reversal attempt or we could see a pullback followed by a continuation of the earlier trend, posting a higher low or lower high for the session.
  4. News Catalysts:
    • Be aware of any scheduled news releases around 10:00 AM, as they can act as catalysts by reinforcing the current trend or triggering a reversal.
    • During earnings season, particularly pay attention to the MAG7 (Meta, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, Tesla) earnings reports, as well as AI tech-related companies and banks. These sectors can have a significant impact on market sentiment and direction.
  5. Indices Futures Correlations:

Purpose of BaseLine Algo Systems

Educational: This is for sim/demo trading and allows a trader to tweak a copy of the baseline algos to their trading style and compare back to the running baseline algos stats, etc. It runs fully automated on a server in sim/demo mode, providing baseline statistics and trading data. Traders should save a copy of algorithm settings, make adjustments, and compare results against these baselines. Once configured, the system operates 24/7 on a server with NinjaTrader connected; no license is required in NT8 sim/demo modes.

Installation and setup take just one minute. Workspace 5 can be installed immediately, but accounts will need to be added within the NinjaTrader control center.

Assessment: Weekly and monthly assessments ensure optimal performance—avoid live trading prematurely to mitigate recency bias!

Time to Market: A minimum evaluation period of 3 months to 1 year is advisable for fully automated trading with the settings and variants a trader has created to suit their trading plan and are tested.

Release Notes

  1. AFT8 License modes are enforced – real-time indicator plots will become invisible, signals and alerts disabled, algo entry and trade manager automation disabled.
  2. AFT8 can now be installed with no licenses or desktop apps and works with no license notifications for Sim, NT Demo, replay non-live trading, non-prop firm modes.
  3. Apex Prop Firm and Bulenox are supported for Evaluation trading for the Get Funded Accelerator save 80% + an additional promo code on top!
    1. For all other modes of prop firm or live trading, a license is required.
  4. Tracing and error message logging are now separated and accessible in the NinjaTrader Trace folder “\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\trace”.
  5. NinjaTrader Alert Window “AFT8 License Alert” will pop up once for each NinjaTrader session if licenses are required.
  6. AFT8 License Alerts details notes will be saved to the folder “\Documents\AlgoFuturesTrader\Docs” and pop up in a default web browser.

    1. Indicator: Alpha PSAR – our interpretation of the PSAR has a new parameter “Trend Mode” added which allows a variant method for trend reversal calculation – this looks super awesome, check it out!
    2. Indicator: Dynamic Trend – removes some parameters and adds in PSAR Template for the secondary trend mode via settings template – create a PSAR template and use it in the Dynamic Trend for ease.
    3. Indicator: Generic Signals:
      1. New Rule 20: “Evolving Market Profile” Crossover on the Session Fib Grid Profile: Year, Month, Week, and Day – you need to switch on Market Profile Mode in the FibGrid.
      2. Fixes to Trade Signal Mode 1 – count of rules as a percentage bias.
      3. Fixes to Rule 19 – SFG-VWAP Crossover.
  9. AFT Workspaces are all available on day 1 of signup and a trader can go at their own pace and decide which one to install when they are ready.
  10. AFT VIP workspaces are provided in the Installer AFT Workspaces no4 and will sync updates to the local machine for VIP.
    1. BaseLine Futures Fully Automated Trading Systems “AFT8-Algos-BaseLine-004” has no charts at all, only the Algo Entry and Exits running.
    2. AFT8-Algos-BaseLine-003 has charts with rotating tabs the same as the algo server and a handful of indices on session breakout.
  11. Note: For Lifetime Owners who do not run the maintenance, the full feature of Trade Management will still work for live account trading. The Algo Entry Module will require renewal for live account trading and prop firm trading.

  1. I want a trading system that performs well in all market cycles. (Holy Grail unicorn hunter – learn when to trade with a system and when not to, or implement diversified asset streams.)
  2. A fully automated robot can trade my prop firm account to get funded and stay funded. (BS alert! Prop firms mostly do not allow robots, and their rules are so tight this is 99% likely to fail.)
  3. The system stats look great; I will buy it as I have found the best system and will be a winner. (Victim of your financial aspirations – only believe the facts and evidence firsthand of what it does with you as the driver.)
  4. I want money, and trading is the best way to get it. If I buy a robot to do it for me, I can be rich. (Get a job; you are a loser already – do not trade for money, trade with a passion for the love of trading!)
  5. I need to trade all day; more is more. (We are taught at school and work to do more – in trading, less is more – FOMO, Fear, and Greed.)
  6. I will watch the market all day and all night if I have to learn an edge. (Just watch and learn the hours you are going to trade – focus on your trade session and trade plan rules.)
  7. If I trade more instruments, I will do better and make more money. (Better to focus on one or at most a few, two to three to start.)
  8. I am a bad discretionary trader, so a robot will cure my problem. (No, cure your problem first as it will still manifest in auto trading. 99% fail at auto trading who rush it.)
  9. I have a dream; I want this more than anything, so that means I will be successful. (Then it means too much – stop caring about money and honey – focus on getting good and enjoying the game; the rest will follow.)
  10. I will trade the market economic news announcement; results in a good means buy and bad means sell. (No, it doesn’t – market catalysts can be a boost to trading; your systematic rules will enter long or short.)
  11. The market sees me and knows where my stops are; it makes me lose; this is a war; I am cannon fodder. (This is trader vanity – focus on the system and take care not to leave stops around obvious levels.)
  12. I don’t need to understand the system in automated trading. (If you learn the game of golf and then use a golf robot, you will do far better.)
  13. I don’t need to take stats or keep a diary in automated trading. (You need to know when it is winning and why and when it’s losing and why – you can adjust your trade plan settings based on this info.)
  14. I should attend a large group in Discord to learn from people. (In the valley of the blind, the one-eyed man is king! 99% is the blind leading the blind over the cliff or to a peak with each market phase.)
  15. I can leave a system on forever and not monitor, attend, or pause it. (Market price news shocks, internet & PC faults occur! Monitor it!)
  16. The system started to lose; the vendor is a fraud, or the system is broken. (Systems all will have a drawdown period; you should know this inside out before trying on live.)
  17. Fully automated means no work and no interaction, just set-and-forget trading and go play golf. (Around about 90% fully auto with 10% manual interaction due to news, rollovers, and price exposure, etc., is about the right level for pro mode auto for full automation – there is a lot of ongoing work for auto trading – performance monitoring, optimization, preparation, or R&D.)
  18. These system stats are great; I can be confident of winning in the future as it has proven in the past. (Luck, curve fitting, data sample, market shifts, slippage, errors, human interaction – there is NO guarantee.)
  19. I am a prop firm trader; I mirror 20 accounts; I made 100K on NQ in the last month; now I am ready for live cash trading. (Slippage, broker limits, real cash margin, and real pressure, real risk are very different; you will probably blow up in a day.)
  20. I trade manually and win, so I know if I automate my trading, it will be a winner. (No, in most cases, this is not the result at all; you would need to trade like a robot, then automate it.)
  21. The best trading software, settings, and trade plan are the ones I see others doing well with. (No, the best system and best stats are what you do with a system over time via direct hands-on experience.)

Trading is an art and skill, not an exact science. Anyone who sells you the easy dream or this BS above is either delusional, chasing a pipe dream, or a malign Machiavellian. Sadly, most vendors, brokers, coaches, and influencers are the latter, knowingly taking advantage of your financial aspirations and desperations! Statistically, the facts are no secret; day trading is, for 80% of people, the worst way to make money compared to getting a proper job and career. You never know if the market will be in a winning phase and what you will win or lose from week to month. It takes a whole lot of money and time to reach this pinnacle of trading for a living. Yes, you can be a winner, but you have to be in the correct winning mindset and environment to do it, alongside an income, something that provides stability and risk capital, or get funded to trade via a prop firm, or you are guaranteed to lose and burn! No matter how good the system is, due to psychology!
