AFT7 NYSE Session Breakout Trading Micro Futures Workspace Update for March 2021 contract

The workspaces for Micro Futures have been rolled to the new contract for 03-21. Restarting NinjaTrader with AFT7 installed will automatically download and install into NinjaTrader.
Manual installation is also available from the AFT downloads page

You will need to roll your contracts to the latest and download the data –

You may also need to download 8 days of historical tick data: https://ninjatrader.com/support/helpGuides/nt7/download.htm

Then open the new workspace – close the workspace if you are getting any errors about “unable to find instrument” – roll over the contract and get the data then open the workspace

Guide to get started with AFT7 day trading

Recommended path for getting started with AFT7

To get started trading with AFT after installation. Focus only on the session breakout workspace, use 1 workspace at a time is the best practice.
Follow the live market and trade from 9.30 NYSE EST for 3 hours or so.
Less is more only trade 1 to 3 signals per instrument per session

Starting out with MES is likely easier than MNQ.
Save your own workspace and edit your preferred stops and targets, settings etc. Start small understand the controls and system features

Trading Tips:
Note the look and feel of days that are successful and losing days
Avoid fear and greed and impatience

When to trade and when to sit out?

  • Understand when to trade – market directional momentum, price analysis on higher time frames and schedule of market moving events
  • Accept market price cycles are not your fault or the systems -trending days and choppy range bound consolidation slow days
  • There might only be 12 to 15 good market days per month and 5 horrendous – so why trade them if you can learn to see them prior or as they trade.
  • Better to learn to sit out and watch and understand the cycles instead of try to over trade. Record keep a log and note the high probability days and the losing days what was the context and pretext.?
  • Note the calendar cycle of each new year, quarter, month, week and day – can you use that for higher accuracy.
  • Use the trendometer and market analyzer to assist and look to trade with correlation for indices of trending confluence rather than a messy market -directionless.

Non Farms Payroll OCO Breakout Trading micro futures with AFT7

Non Farms Payroll OCO Breakout Trading Micro Futures in semi automated trading mode.

You can install and open any workspace provided that suits you. Simply wait until you are a minute or so away from the pending news release. Click the OCO Button and then make sure the entry long and short are in the technical position as you like.

Now wait for the market trend momentum and price to fill one of the entry orders. The One Cancels Other (OCO) means the other order will be cancelled. The AFT7 automatic trade management module will then place the trade exit orders and automatically scale out and trail the stop loss.
