Introducing Custom Trading Signals

The best algo trading system framework for NinjaTrader 8 just got even better with successful tests allowing third-party code/traders to create scripts in NinjaTrader as indicators, DOM columns, strategies, market analyzer columns, or even bar types. AFT now supports custom Ninja scripts that you can create to inject signals into the AFT8 Algo Entry system. Code examples are available in the AFT Discord dev forum. Users need to sign up for an ATS universal account, log in, and link their Discord account to gain access. This allows the AFT Desktop to download the latest patch when NinjaTrader 8 is closed. It makes it very easy to code your own rules in your NT Scripts indicator, market column, or strategy, and then inject the signal into AFT8.

AFT8 will execute the signal if your filters and controller settings allow it. The AFT trade management module will then take over, providing the best trading system features, all off the shelf, 100% free for sim, demo, replay, and prop firm evaluation trading. Take it to the next level!

AFT8 pending update news for 2024

AFT8 v2024 update release is planned imminently, fingers crossed, in the next 1 to 2 weeks! As soon as it passes a long test of quality assurance, unit and system soak testing, and regression testing. This will include premium features such as trade plan goals and much more polished, slicker performance and usability features, with more to come in the following releases as outlined in the Discord trading groups.

Some traders are using AFT8 in full premium feature modes on different brokerages or mirroring to different platforms, taking advantage of all the features for personal financial gain, which is fantastic. However, for whatever reason, due to lack of clarity or system prompts, they have not purchased a license yet. So, AFT8’s next release will start enforcing fair usage and enforcing features to make it a win-win for all. Traders outside of the trial period will notice some changes, and traders who do not purchase the annual renewal will also notice changes and feature access:

AFT8 version 2023.7.21 service release

AFT8 version 2023.7.21 is a service release for AFT8 version 2023.7.20.

Bug Fix for System.IO.FileNotFoundException

Error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly ‘System.Text.Json’.

The technical reason is that some PCs were lacking resources required for .NET Standard, so parts of 2023.7.20 had to be rolled back to use backwards-compatible .NET 4.8 serialization legacy technology, Newtonsoft.

Therefore, a missing file error was logged and prevented licensing from being read and applied. Error trace: Error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly ‘System.Text.Json, Version=7.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc7b13ffcd2ddd51’ or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Apologies to those affected. It was tested on various desktops and servers and only had issues on some, hence why it slipped through the net. Lesson learned and noted so we can avoid similar issues with modern and legacy technology.

AFT8 Update

We are forging ahead with our other technologies. We are at the cutting edge as it has proven reliable. .NET 7.0 and now .NET 8.0 are under scrutiny. We will be moving more modules to the cloud and modern desktop, mobile, and web technologies over the course of 2023 to 2024 to minimize the impact of technology and stay ahead of the curve of any changes.
